After telling my mother about this happening new blog of ours over the weekend she immediately pushed me to do a post about the tattoo on Kobe’s arm… “What is it?? “… “What’s the story behind it??”… So here we go!  This has been covered all over the net throughout Kobe’s career…. Here’s an excerpt from a great synopsis about the tattoo’s appeared on his arm following the events of the 2003 rape allegations made and then later dropped (after receiving an undisclosed financial settlement) by a 19 yr old girl while in Eagle, Colorado.  The tatt’s are related to his family and his spiritual faith:

The name Vanessa and a Crown to represent the primary importance of his wife, two angel wings and the inscription Psalm XVII to express his faith.

He also have his daughter’s name Natalia Diamante tattooed on his left arm.

So there you have it!

A tribute to his wife and family.  GREAT TATTOOS.

jordantatHearing Orlando Magics’ back-up center Marcin Gortat’s side of the story in his battle with his shoe sponsor Reebok over the prominent showing of his Jordan/Nike logo tattoo during Game 1 of the NBA Finals is what brings him into our world today.

He’s the leagues only Polish player.  He also seems like a decent guy.  You can check out all the details here (theres also a great flash photospread of NBA tat’s you should CHECK OUT).

“I’ve been wearing it 4-5 years now, and it helped me get to the NBA,” said Gortat. “They didn’t say anything about it when I signed the contract, so it’s not going anywhere. I don’t think they are paying me enough to take it off.”

Looking around online about Gortat led me to this great blog with a bunch of interesting facts about him and this great pic of GORTAT going ANIMAL.

Also heres a video of him doing some sort of dunk competition that after watching made me quite happy that I chose GORTAT to write about right now –
