Big Day

This is a exciting time for sport fans and the world alike. This website was conceived during countless hours of viewing NBA playoffs. Myself and the some best dudes in the world, consistently having to ask ourselves questions such as ” What is that one? “  “Why did he choose that? ” ” How old was he when he got that?” ” Which one is his favorite?”  “Do you think he regrets that?” Spiderman dunking!!?”

I believe these and more are some of the questions we are here to answer. This is the beginning of  a super voyage into the mind of some the most unique individuals to play our favorite games.

This Chris Anderson pic was spotted in a great section put out in April on sportsblogit.com devoted to sports stars tattoo’s.  Definitely worth a look.

jordantatHearing Orlando Magics’ back-up center Marcin Gortat’s side of the story in his battle with his shoe sponsor Reebok over the prominent showing of his Jordan/Nike logo tattoo during Game 1 of the NBA Finals is what brings him into our world today.

He’s the leagues only Polish player.  He also seems like a decent guy.  You can check out all the details here (theres also a great flash photospread of NBA tat’s you should CHECK OUT).

“I’ve been wearing it 4-5 years now, and it helped me get to the NBA,” said Gortat. “They didn’t say anything about it when I signed the contract, so it’s not going anywhere. I don’t think they are paying me enough to take it off.”

Looking around online about Gortat led me to this great blog with a bunch of interesting facts about him and this great pic of GORTAT going ANIMAL.

Also heres a video of him doing some sort of dunk competition that after watching made me quite happy that I chose GORTAT to write about right now –

hot blonde. nice. soulpatch. not nice.

hot blonde. nice. soulpatch. not nice.

While researching professional athlete tattoo’s in our vast and powerful proprietary inkedpro.com database to start our adventure with, we ended up getting taken on a wild ride through sports history… When we came across this one we ended up going and reading the whole tattered tale of Scott Spiezio and it was crazy.

He got the tattoo (of his then current gf) for $500 and the lady saw her last on field action as a pro on September 30, 2007.  According to wikipedia Spiezio made the key play for the Anaheim Angels against the S.F. Giants in the 2002 World Series… which led to a come-from-behind victory.  He ended up playing 6 different positions during his career, and even nabbed a second championship ring with the Cardinals in the 2006 World Series.  He later developed a substance abuse problem.
